On the last day of submission of nomination papers for the first phase of Lok Sabha polls, Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, BJP candidate for the Kaziranga parliamentary constituency filed his nomination papers in the presence of Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and other party leaders. 

The Congress party, on Wednesday, released its eighth list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections this year.

K Annamalai, Tamil Nadu BJP Chief and party's candidate from Coimbatore, on Wednesday, said, "If regional parties do not understand about development. If Modi comes to power for the third time, only development will take place. Only if it is Modi in power, we can bring development to Tamil Nadu."

The BJP, in its seventh list that released on Wednesday, fielded Navneet Rana from the Amravati Lok Sabha reserved (SC) seat in Maharashtra. Rana had contested as an independent candidate in 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Amravati. 

The BJP, on Wednesday, fielded Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh as its candidate for the Karnal Assembly by-elections.

Congress workers on Wednesday gathered outside the party headquarters and protested over the candidature of Danish Ali from Amroha (Uttar Pradesh) for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Suspended BSP MP Danish Ali had joined the Congress recently.

Maulana Mohibullah Nadvi, the Imam of Parliament Street Mosque in Delhi, files his nomination from the Rampur constituency in Uttar Pradesh as he has been fielded by the Samajwadi Party. 

After filing the nomination, Nadvi said, “I have filed my nomination as a Samajwadi Party candidate. Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has sent me here with the message of humanity.”

Election Commission of India issued show cause notices to BJP MP Dilip Ghosh and Congress leader Supriya Shrinate for their remarks against West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and BJP's Lok Sabha Candidate Kangana Ranaut respectively.

BJP election incharge for Karnataka Radha Mohan Das Agarwal yesterday said, "Congress government has many contradictions within it. There is rivalry between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivkumar groups within the party. The Congress govt will itself fall after elections."
