Kolkata: Enraged by exit poll results showing BJP surpassing TMC in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday said, "I don't believe, don't believe, don't believe. This is absolutely vague and fake." Talking to a local channel, Mamata urged the TMC workers to stay strong, claiming that her party will score double the numbers being projected by TV.

Without revealing how many seats TMC will get, Mamata wondered how news organisations would project BJP to be the number one party in Bengal. "Won't go into any numbers for now. Will ask my party workers to do the arithmetic. I don't think people will not vote for us, looking at the crowd and reception we got everywhere."

The Republic Matrize poll has predicted that BJP's vote-share is slated to grow by more than 3 per cent to 43.8 per cent while the TMC's vote-share has gone down by more than 1 per cent. When translated into seats, BJP is projected to get anywhere between 20 to 25 seats while the TMC's tally is expected to come down to 16 to 20 seats. The Left and Congress have seen a decline of vote share and even the number of seats are set to decline from 2 to 0 to 1.P-Marq has predicted 22 seats for BJP and 20 seats for TMC. P-Marq has predicted TMC's vote-share to be at 44 per cent while BJP's vote-share has been predicted at 42 per cent.

Predicting that Mamata's house of cards in Bengal, PM Modi told R Bangla, that BJP's best performance will come from Bengal. When asked as to why Mamata Banerjee was so scared of PM Modi, the Prime Minister said that Mamata is not scared of him but of herself. “The people of Bengal are now convinced that she and her actions are doing a lot of damage to the people of Bengal and the new generation of the state. Mamata is looking for an escape plan,” the PM said.
