The counting of votes for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Manipur commenced at 8 AM on June 4. As the vote tallying progresses, early trends reveal notable leads in both Inner and Outer Manipur constituencies.
In Outer Manipur, Kachui Timothy Zimik of the Naga Peoples Front (NPF) is leading with a significant margin of 21,371 votes, indicating strong support for the NPF in the region.
In Inner Manipur, Angomcha Bimol Akoijam of the Indian National Congress (INC) is leading with a margin of 7,026 votes. Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is currently trailing in this constituency.
During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured one seat in Manipur, capturing 34.3% of the total votes. The Naga People's Front (NPF) also won one seat, with 22.6% of the votes.
