Mumbai South Election Result 2024 LIVE: Vote counting for the Mumbai South Lok Sabha seat began at 8 AM. The Mumbai South Lok Sabha constituency, renowned for its diverse voter base encompassing high net-worth individuals to the indigenous Koli community, is gearing up for an intriguing electoral battle between two stalwarts of the Shiv Sena party. Notably, Shiv Sena's Mahayuti alliance nominated Yamini Yashwant Jadhav as his candidate to face off against Arvind Sawant from Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), also known as UBT Sena.

Post the 2008 delimitation, the Mumbai South Lok Sabha constituency comprises six Vidhan Sabha segments, each with its unique socio-political dynamics. From the upscale Malabar Hill to the bustling Byculla, the constituency includes Worli, Shivadi, Mumbadevi, as well as Colaba, reflecting Mumbai's vibrant cultural mosaic.

Shiv Sena vs UBT Sena: A Fierce Battle  

A two-time MP and leader of the UBT Sena faction, Arvind Sawant is aiming for a hat trick victory in the upcoming elections. He has been vocal in Parliament on national and local issues, positioning himself as a staunch advocate for his constituents. Emphasizing his track record of effective representation and addressing pressing issues such as unemployment and GST, Sawant aims to secure a third consecutive term. His efforts towards the development of BDD chawls and vows to continue championing the concerns of his constituents have been a highlight.  

Meanwhile, UBT Sena’s Yamini Yashwant Jadhav seeks to leverage her grassroots work and Marathi voter base to challenge Sawant's dominance in the constituency. She seeks to portray herself as a fresh alternative and highlights her commitment to addressing the aspirations of Mumbai South residents.

The electoral landscape in Mumbai South is marked by a fierce battle between the Sena factions, with Sawant facing the challenge of anti-incumbency while Jadhav endeavours to consolidate her support base.
