PM Modi's First Reaction After Poll Results: "I bow to the Janata Janardan for this affection"

In a landmark victory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) win in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, securing a third consecutive term. The NDA garnered 293 seats, while the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDI Alliance) captured 232 seats, in a closely watched electoral battle.

Shortly after the results were announced, PM Modi took to Twitter to express his gratitude and commitment to the nation's citizens. "People have placed their faith in NDA, for a third consecutive time! This is a historical feat in India’s history. I bow to the Janata Janardan for this affection and assure them that we will continue the good work done in the last decade to keep fulfilling the aspirations of people," he tweeted.

The Prime Minister also lauded the tireless efforts of the party workers, acknowledging their pivotal role in this significant victory. "I also salute all our Karyakartas for their hard work. Words will never do justice to their exceptional efforts," he added.

A Historical Achievement

This victory marks a historic achievement for the NDA, as it becomes one of the few political coalitions in India to win three consecutive general elections. NDA has got 293 seats while INDI Alliance has 232 seats.

Earlier on Tuesday, PM Modi spoke with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N. Chandrababu Naidu as the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance moved closer to a decisive win in the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections. In the 175-member assembly, the TDP had secured three seats and was leading in 134. The Jana Sena Party was ahead in 21 constituencies, and the BJP in eight, according to the Election Commission.

Naidu congratulated both leaders as the NDA headed for a resounding victory in the state. During the call, PM Modi and Amit Shah also extended their congratulations to Naidu for the TDP's impressive performance in the assembly elections.
