Suspended JDS Leader Prajwal Revanna Loses Hassan Seat

Prajwal Revanna, who is currently in the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for sexual harassments charges, lost Hassan seat.

Bengaluru: Main accused in the Karnataka sex tape case and suspended JDS leader Prajwal Revanna lost Hassan seat from a margin of 42,649 votes. Votes were counted on Tuesday, June 4 for Lok Sabha election 2024.

Shreyas M Patel of Congress emerged as the winner in the constituency. Prajwal secured 6,30,339 votes, while Patel got 6,72,988.

Prajwal (33), the grandson of JD(S) patriarch H D Deve Gowda, had contested as the NDA candidate. As charges against him of sexually abusing women emerged, after Hassan went to polls on April 26, the JD(S) suspended him from the party. He is currently in the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is probing the cases. 

Prajwal Revanna Arrested by SIT 

Prajwal Revanna, facing allegations of sexually abusing several women, was arrested on Friday by the SIT probing the case. As he landed in Karnataka's Kempegowda International Airport, he was taken into custody by the SIT.

Revanna had flown to Munich just hours before a FIR was lodged against him in the sleaze tape case. He had left for Germany on April 27, a day after Hassan went to polls. A 'Blue Corner Notice' seeking information on his whereabouts was issued by the Interpol earlier, following a request by the SIT via the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
