'Uska Baap Chor Tha': PM Modi Jabs INDI During Hoshiarpur Rally, Calls Congress Mother of Corruption

Addressing a rally in Hoshiarpur on the last day of campaigning for the seven-phase Lok Sabha poll, PM Modi attacked the INDI alliance.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his election campaign with Hoshiarpur rally on Thursday, May 30. At the Hoshiarpur rally, PM launched a scathing attack on the Opposition's INDI alliance, calling the Congress party- the mother of corruption. Polling for 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab will be held in last and seventh phase on June 1, while results will be declared on June 4. 

Recalling one of the stories, he heard during his childhood, PM Modi narrated that ring of a nurse went missing after she assisted in child birth of a pregnant woman. Everyone in the hospital looked for the ring, but could not find it, said the Prime Minister. As the story progressed, PM said that someone noticed that the newborn kid was not opening his fist, and when the fist of the newborn was somehow opened by the doctors, he was found holding the ring.

PM said that everyone got concerned that the child has started stealing things just after his birth, when all recalled that his father was a big thief. "Congress is the mother of all corruption, attacked PM Modi. He said that the parties of the INDI alliance are corrupt. 

PM Modi Invokes Guru Ravidas During Hoshiarpur rally 

Addressing a rally in Hoshiarpur on the last day of campaigning for the seven-phase Lok Sabha poll, PM Modi said the country witnessed unprecedented development during the last ten years. He also invoked Guru Ravidas to say that he was the inspiration for working towards the welfare of the poor. "Welfare of poor is my government's top priority. And in this big inspiration is of Guru Ravidas," said the PM during Hoshiarpur rally.

The prime minister also said that his wish is for Adampur airport, which serves Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur, to be named after Guru Ravidas. Noting that it his last public meeting of this election, he said Hoshiarpur is called 'Chotti Kashi' and is Guru Ravi Das' 'tapobhoomi. "Varanasi, from where I am MP, Guru Ravidas was born there. Therefore, in this pious land of Hoshiarpur, closing of the poll campaign, for me is a matter of pride," he said. “After forming government, we will work towards the naming of the airport in Adampur after Guru Ravidas ji,” he added.

PM Modi to meditate at Vivekananda Rock 

Following the culmination of the Lok Sabha polls campaign on May 30, PM Modi will meditate at Rock Memorial, a monument built in tribute to Swami Vivekananda, in Kanyakumari. He will meditate from the evening of May 30 to the evening of June 1 at Dhyan Mandapam, the place where Vivekananda -- a spiritual icon admired by Modi -- is believed to have had a divine vision about 'Bharat Mata', said the BJP.  The prime minister had gone on a similar meditation exercise in a Kedarnath cave after the 2019 poll campaign.
