PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday lashed out at micro-blogging website Twitter over Official account verification of BJP's candidate for Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency Sadhvi Pragya Thakur.

Sharing a screengrab of Sadhvi Pragya Thakur's Twitter profile with the blue tick of a verified account, Mehbooba Mufti called the BJP candidate a "terror accused" and said that it is "ridiculous that a terror accused is given a platform to sow seeds of hatred".

She further added that "thank god Godse isn't alive anymore":

On April 17, BJP fielded Sadhvi Pragya Thakur against Congress' Digvijaya Singh for the Bhopal Lok Sabha seat for the 2019 polls.

However, massive controversy emerged over Sadhvi Pragya's election candidature for Lok Sabha polls from Bhopal with the Opposition targeting her over the 2008 Malegaon blast case. Sadhvi Pragya is an accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case and is currently out on bail.

Earlier in April, the former J&K CM had also opined on ticket given to Sadhvi Pragya by BJP with a tweet saying that had she fielded someone who was a terror accused, she would have been branded a terrorist:

Responding to Mufti's remarks, Sadhvi Pragya in an exclusive interview to Republic TV had hit back at the PDP chief, saying that Mehbooba Mufti is upset with her candidature.

"Mehbooba Mufti is troubled. She is upset because it is clear that I was not involved. She, who supports terrorists and gives them respects them with ji and declares deshbhakts as terrorists, people of such character are duplicitous, nobody believes them," BJP's Bhopal candidate had said.

Meanwhile, two phases of Lok Sabha polls are remaining which are scheduled to take place on May 12 and May 19. The results are scheduled to take place on May 23.
