After Manmohan Singh, now a biopic on Rahul Gandhi, ‘My Name is RaGa’, watch teaser

After the biopic on former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and another on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on floors, it seems one on Rahul Gandhi is also set to release. A four-minute teaser of the movie titled ‘My Name is Raga’ has surfaced on the Internet and there’s no clarity if it’d be a feature film or a digital release. It’s also not clear if it’s a parody or an actual take on the life of the Congress President.

After the biopic on former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and another on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on floors, it seems one on Rahul Gandhi is also set to release.

A four-minute teaser of the movie titled ‘My Name is RaGa’ has surfaced on the Internet, which obviously is not an official biopic. There’s no clarity if it’d be a feature film or a digital release, whether it’s a parody or an actual take on the life of the Congress President.

Nevertheless, the teaser starts with visuals of character based on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi watching a young Rahul swimming.  He then sees his grandmother being killed in front of his eyes and the incident seems to affect his mind and he asks his father, based on former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, if he will also be killed.

He then is handed over the responsibility of the party by his mother, Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh, which he accepts despite apprehensions. A character based on his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is seen as his pillar of support.

Rahul says that he’ll be proud to even fail for India as his father and grandmother have given their lives for the country.

We see visuals of the Bharatiya Janata Party members and voiceover about Rahul Gandhi being a 'Mughal Emperor' and the Gandhi family being compared to Mughal dynasty.

He is then seen celebrating a victory for the party, despite being ‘mocked and vilified more than any other politician in contemporary Indian politics’. If the movie is not a parody, it could be his journey from childhood to his most famous victory, Congress winning three out of five states in the assembly elections held in December last year.
