Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and have established themselves among the most bankable stars of the industry currently with their respective third film in the row in the coveted 100-crore club. The duo’s latest offering ‘Gully Boy’ has also breached the three-figure mark at the end of the first extended week. 

Ever since the trailer and the film released, all people could talk about was the lead pair's versatility and ace-acting skills. However, the film also starred a debutante, Siddhanth Chaturvedi who gained a massive fan following and immense praise for his role in the film. Apart from known as MC Sher, the young actor is also known as the 'Gully sensation'.

Siddhanth recently received a bouquet of flowers and a handwritten note from veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan as a token of appreciation and actress Alia Bhatt was not far behind. She took to Instagram to share that she too had received a letter! 

'Its not everyday you receive a letter from the legend. Grateful ✨🌞🙏' she captioned the post. 

'Gully Boy' starts with 22-year-old Ranveer Singh (Murad) trying to survive in a ghetto in Mumbai, given the fact that a few of his friends steal cars and sell them for survival. However, Murad, on the other hand, is working hard to get himself educated, just in order to get a white-collar job. The film showcases street rap from the crevices of Mumbai's 'Gully' lanes. The rapping in this film has been made keeping in mind the socio-economic condition of the city, that highlights the challenges that have been faced by the disenfranchised youth. One can say that the film is explosive, powerful and sure to bring in a cinematic change.

Ranveer Singh has clearly proved that he is the master, with his versatility and exceptional rapping skills. Alia Bhatt, one can say has given the performance of the year and should be widely lauded. Kalki Kochelin brings in a sweet twist to Murad (Ranveer Singh) and Alia Bhatt's love-story and creates a perfect balance in the film.
