Ajay Devgn is all set to produce Netflix Original movie starring Kajol

In order to produce more original content, Netflix has now collaborated with Ajay Devgn’s production house ADFF. They are producing Tribhanga which also stars Kajol. The film is reportedly Kajol’s debut on a digital platform. It is also reportedly Ajay Devgn's first digital venture as producer.

About Tribhanga

Tribhanga is being directed by Renuka Shahane. It is a story about a dysfunctional family of three women. Besides Kajol, Mithila Palkar, Tanvi Azmi and Kunaal Roy Kapoor are also part of the cast. Set in Mumbai, Tribhanga follows the story of three generations and the importance of one’s family. The timeline followed by the film is from the 1980s to the present day and constantly shifts back and forth through the generations. Recently Kajol took to Instagram to share a picture of the clapboard to announce the film’s shooting.

Director Renuka Shahane has reportedly said in an interview that she is looking forward to directing the movie. She expressed her enthusiasm for working on a Netflix production. Renuka also reportedly added that the movie derives its name from the Odissi dance pose which is disjointed and asymmetrical. It is “mesmerizing and sensuous”, much like the lives of the three women.

Ajay Devgn on producing a Netflix Original

Ajay Devgn has also reportedly expressed his eagerness to work on Tribhanga. He said how the OTT platforms are deemed as the future of entertainment. Ajay Devgn also appreciates the authenticity and universality of websites like Netflix. ADFF will also collaborate with Bannijay Asia and Siddharth P Malhotra’s Alchemy Films. Speaking about the collaboration, Ajay Devgn reportedly said that with such producers on board he believes they will be able to present the story in a more nuanced manner without the apprehension of financial limitations.

Netflix had earlier produced original web series like Sacred Games and Bard of Blood which has been received well by the audiences. The first was in collaboration with Phantom Films and the second with Red Chilies Entertainment. Netflix has collaborated with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for some original series and films. Tribhanga with Ajay Devgn's ADFF is being highly anticipated by the fans. The film will reportedly start its shooting this week.
