Akshara Haasan leaked pictures case: Actress' ex-boyfriend comes under police scrutiny

Akshara Haasan shocked everyone recently with the news that some of her private pictures have leaked online. After she filed a legal complaint on the matter, things have a strange turn. The actress' ex-boyfriend Tanuj Virwani has now come under police scanner. The son of actor Rati Agnihotri, Tanuj is expected to be interrogated by the police on the matter.

The police have revealed that the pictures that have surfaced were from 2013 when the actress was using an iPhone and that she may have shared the picture with Tanuj back then. This is how he has become involved in the case. However, he has denied possessing any such pictures with him and called the incident unfortunate. The two had been dating for a while but finally parted ways in 2016. It remains to be seen how the case will progress over time. 

The ‘Shamitabh’ star took to Twitter on November 7 to state that she was unaware of how the leak took place.  She called ‘deeply unfortunate’ the act to 'make a young girl the victim of such an act only for a pervert mind’s enjoyment.' Akshara slammed the ‘eye-catching headlines’ used to share the pictures, saying it ‘scarred’ her ‘deeper’ and contributed to her ‘harassment and helplessness.’  The actor added that it was ‘particularly disturbing and deeply upsetting’ such an incident took place in the wake of the #MeToo movement.

Akshara’s Twitter profile is unverified, but sister Shruti Haasan corroborated it by retweeting her post and tagging the Twitter handles of Mumbai police and cyber cell. ‘Raees’ director Rahul Dholakia was among those who replied to the tweet, calling it ‘disgusting’ and requesting Mumbai police to help. 

At the moment, the actress seems to be getting her life back on her track as she also posted a tribute to Marvel legend Stan Lee.
