1. The Padma Shri award 

Akshay Kumar was the recipient of the Padma Shri award in the year 2009. The Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian award given by the Government of India. It is awarded to citizens who display exemplary talent and service to the nation the fields they are active in. Akshay received the award from the then President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil. 

2. National Film Award

In 2016, Akshay Kumar was awarded the National Film Award for Best Actor. He won the coveted accolade for his performance in the courtroom drama, Rustom. While some sections were critical of the jury's decision to award Akshay for this film, the actor was beyond elated to have bagged the award. The citation for his National Film Award was "A perfect portrayal of a character caught in personal and social turmoil."

3. Filmfare Awards

The Filmfare awards are one of the most popular and coveted film awards in Bollywood. While Akshay Kumar has received nominations for various categories over the years, most recently for Best Actor for the 2018 film PadMan, he has won only two awards in categories that do not exist anymore. In 2002, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Negative Role in the 2001 thriller, Ajnabee, regarded by many as one of his best performances. Akshay won the Filmfare Award for Best Comic Role in the 2005 film, Garam Masala.
