Alia Bhatt is amidst the most popular actors of the Hindi Film Industry. She made a ground-breaking debut with Student Of The Year in 2012. Alia has proven her mettle time and again by essaying distinct roles in her films. She will be next seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra opposite her real-life boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. The film is slated to release on May 20, 2020. Alia Bhatt has played a Punjabi girl's character in several movies like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Shaandaar, Student Of The Year and Highway. She is also a great singer and sung quite a few songs in her acting career so far. Take a look at some of the popular Punjabi tracks from her blockbuster movies.

Alia Bhatt’s songs with Punjabi lyrics

Main Tenu Samjhawan: The song is an adaptation of a Punjabi track, which was picturised on Arya Babbar and sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. However, for the movie Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, it was sung by the music maestro Arijit Singh and picturised on the successful onscreen pair of Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. When Alia sang the female version of the song, her fans were taken in by a pleasant surprise and it became a smashing hit. In fact, her version of the song topped the radio charts for the longest time in 2014.

Ik Kudi: Udta Punjab did exceptional business at the box-office and Alia’s performance in the film was highly lauded by the critics. This was the second time when Alia lent her voice to a song. She featured with Punjab’s superstar Diljit Dosanjh in the video of the track and the latter also made his debut in the Hindi film industry with Udta Punjab. As soon as the song launched, it gathered a lot of attention from the audience due to its melodious music and soulful singing. In fact, it gave Alia Bhatt a lot more recognition as a singer.

Saturday Saturday: It is a peppy dance number in Dharma Production’s 2014 film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania featuring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. The song is an adaptation from a hit Punjabi song by Indeep Bakshi and Badshah under the same title. The original track released in 2012 and was a massive hit amongst the youth of Punjab. The revised track became a national rage after it became a part of a commercially successful film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. It became so popular that it was played at almost every nightclub and wedding party throughout the year.

Da Da Dasse: Even though Alia Bhatt didn’t play a Punjabi girl in the movie Udta Punjab, the song Da Da Dasse sung by Kanika Kapoor was picturised on her, and it gained a lot of appreciation from her fans. Alia Bhatt created a lot of buzz with her stellar performance in the film. She won a lot of awards in the country in the best actor female category, which further cemented her position in A-list Bollywood actors.
