A recent video of Alia Bhatt talking about how Ranbir Kapoor disapproves of her applying lipstick went viral. This led to the Shamshera actor being labelled a "controlling" husband. In the midst of an online discussion about her son-in-law Ranbir, Soni Razdan shared a cryptic post on social media, talking about "cancel culture".

3 things you need to know

  • Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot on April 14, 2022.
  • The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, the same year and named her Raha.
  • Soni Razdan seemingly defended Ranbir as she called out those who "decide for other people".

'Funny times we live in'

Soni Razdan seemingly took a stand for Ranbir Kapoor by sharing a cryptic note on her Instagram stories addressing "cancel culture". In her note, she expressed her concern about people passing judgement on others' lives and engaging in discussions that are not related to them. She deemed this trend "idiotic".

"What's seeming increasingly idiotic: Cancel culture. People deciding for other people what is wrong with their lives and then everyone jumping into some discussion or the other about things that actually have nothing to do with them! Funny times we live in!," she wrote.

Ranbir Kapoor faces social media wrath

Alia Bhatt recently appeared in a promotional video in which she showed her fans a hack to apply lipstick. In the video, the actress revealed she always ends up wiping some of the lipstick off after application. She further stated that her husband Ranbir Kapoor likes the natural colour of her lips and always insists that she wipe her lipstick off.

This sparked an online debate about Ranbir's allegedly dominating nature, which was dubbed a "red flag". Alia has not addressed the controversy directly so far.
