Alia Bhatt's role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi to be whitewashed?

It was indeed disappointing news for Alia Bhatt's fans when the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial film Inshallah was reportedly shelved where the actor was supposed to be seen opposite Salman Khan. The entire fandom wanted to see the two come together for the movie. But soon there was some relief for the actor's fans when the SLB directorial Gangubai Kathiawadi was announced where the Raazi actor will be essaying the titular role. The film is reportedly based on a novel and narrates the story of a fiery lady don from the city of Mumbai. The movie is being touted as one of the biggest woman-oriented roles of the Udta Punjab actor.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is planning to whitewash Alia's character in the film

According to reports, Gangubai was also a well-known courtesan and was known for running a sex racket. She had a menacing reputation in the underworld and was a hitman as well as a drug peddlar. According to media reports, Sanjay is now planning to whitewash Alia's character as a prostitute in the film. The filmmaker reportedly will go easy on some of the dark aspects of Gangubai's life and will portray her in a more positive shade. There have also been several other revelations surrounding the film, Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Alia will be learning the local dialect of the film

Reportedly, SLB is planning to gloss over the underbelly side of the movie. There are several rumours doing the round regarding the male protagonist to be cast opposite the Dear Zindagi actor. There were speculations that Kartik Aaryan or Ajay Devgn may be starring opposite Alia in the film. Alia will also undergo an extensive prep for the film and will learn the local dialect to get the nuances of her character right. SLB is reportedly on a hunt for a tutor who will be training the actor. The actor was reportedly clicked outside SLB's office recently. The actor has time and again expressed her excitement on working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film will reportedly be releasing next year.
