Amitabh Bachchan: Health issues that the actor has recovered from

Amitabh Bachchan has been suffering from the liver problem for a long time. The superstar was recently admitted to a hospital for his treatment. Read more:

Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly been admitted to Nanavati Hospital for a routine check-up. According to reports by several leading media publications, the actor was admitted on Tuesday and is likely to get discharged soon. As per a report in a leading daily, the actor was rushed at 2 am owing to the liver issue. It has also been reported that he has been provided with a special room which is quite similar to an ICU.

It has been public knowledge that Amitabh has had a long-standing fight against a liver ailment. After his accident during the shoot of Coolie movie, the actor contracted Hepatitis B and struggled with health-related issues for a long while. Over the period, Amitabh Bachchan lost about 75% of his liver to cirrhosis. Later he was also told that his liver was infected. The actor, however, has managed to stay fit through medical treatments as well as a healthy lifestyle.

A muscle dysfunctional disorder

According to reports, the actor suffered various ailments shortly after his Coolie incident. Amitabh was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, which is a muscle dysfunctional disorder. This condition makes it difficult for the ailing person to perform basic tasks such as brushing teeth, picking up things, walking, etc. The doctors also said that the actor recovered from this condition but it can trigger anytime. 

Severe Diverticulitis of the small intestine

As per the reports, the actor also suffered gastro issues which later converted into diverticulitis of the small intestine. The doctors revealed that was a rare occurrence and could prove to be fatal if not attended on time. This ailment can be solved with antibiotics. But Bachchan's was a severe case that led to his operation in 2005.

Meanwhile, the actor has been quite active on Twitter. On the festival of Karwa Chauth, Amitabh Bachchan posted a picture of his wife Jaya Bachchan. He wrote a hilarious caption for his lady. The actor wished everyone on this beautiful occasion through another tweet.

Forthcoming Projects

The megastar celebrated his birthday on October 11, 2019. On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan has Brahmastra, Gulabo Sitabo, Jhund and Chehre in his pipeline. Among these, Nagraj Manjule’s Jhund will be released first. Based on the life of Vijay Barse, the film stars Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru alongside Bachchan. Produced under the banners of Tandav Films, T-Series and Aatpaat, the biographical sports drama is scheduled to theatrically release on December 13, 2019.
