Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor are two of the most talented and fashionable actors of the Hindi film industry. The two actors are individually acclaimed for their body of work and for their gorgeous fashion sense. It is not surprising that both of the actors entered the film industry around the same time.
Both Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor have done 19 films in their respective careers. The two actors have starred in just one film together- the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju. The 2018 biographical film was directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and was based on the life of Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt. The film was the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2018 and also ranks as the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
Sonam Kapoor was working as an assistant director to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his 2005 Rani Mukerji-Amitabh Bachchan film, Black, along with actor Ranbir Kapoor. Later, in 2007, Sanjay Leela Bhansali launched Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor in the romantic drama, Saawariya. The film marked Sonam's debut in Bollywood films.
Anushka Sharma began her career as a model. Initially, she wanted to pursue a career in journalism. After she began her career as a model, Anushka also auditioned for film roles. She bagged the lead actor's role in the 2008 romantic drama, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, which was written, produced and directed by Aditya Chopra. The film was her big Bollywood debut film.
