Anushka Sharma is rumoured to team up with actor Hrithik Roshan in Farah Khan's next directorial. The film is scheduled to go on the floors in the first quarter of 2020. According to media reports, the film is supposed to be a remake of the 1982 Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini starrer, Satte Pe Satta, which itself was a remake of the 1954 Hollywood film, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. Initially, it was reported that Deepika was supposed to star opposite Hrithik in the film, but that turned out to be not true.

Anushka Sharma's last Bollywood film was the 2018 release Zero 

Some media reports have said that the film's cast has been locked with Anushka and Hrithik in the lead. The as-yet-untitled film will begin filming in early 2020. Farah Khan is reportedly looking for a release date in early 2021. The film will be produced by Rohit Shetty's production house, Rohit Shetty Picturez.

In February 2019, Farah Khan and Rohit Shetty announced that they were collaborating together for an action-comedy film. In an interview, Farah said that the film will be in the same genre that she specializes in, going by her previous films like Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om. She further added that both Rohit and she are excited about the collaboration. While not confirming that the film is indeed a remake of Satte Pe Satta, Farah did state that the film is a remake of an old and popular film and the rights have been bought for the film. She said that the cast will be announced in the due course of time. 

Farah Khan's last directorial was the 2014 film Happy New Year

Anushka Sharma's last film was the 2018 release, Zero. The film also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif but flopped at the box-office. She is currently focusing on developing content for streaming platforms Netflix and Amazon Prime via her production company, Clean Slate Films. If the reports are indeed true, it will be interesting to see Hrithik and Anushka in the film together as this will mark their first-ever collaboration together.
