Arshad Warsi aka Circuit’s opinion on comedy in Bollywood today

The famous comedy film series Munna Bhai would have been incomplete if it was not for Arshad Warsi’s comical portrayal of Circuit. He won over the audience and critics alike with his comical dialogues. He made a special place for himself in the comedy genre in Bollywood with the film and his role. He has been in the industry for more than two decades now and has played some iconic roles in films like Hulchul, Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, Jolly LLB, Ishqiya, etc.

Arshad Warsi comments on comedy in Bollywood today

During the recent promotions of his upcoming film Pagalpanti, Arshad Warsi spoke to a leading national daily at length about comedy in Bollywood these days. He revealed how he has been typecast to a certain genre. He also said that people in the industry do not offer him anything apart from comedy. But this is not going to stop the actor from experimenting.

Arshad Warsi also added that actors should not be worried about being typecast but instead work on their acting abilities. He said that as long as an actor is getting work, they should be okay with the roles being offered. Arshad also said that he does not worry about being typecast.

While commenting on the current state of comedy in Bollywood, Arshad Warsi said that, in his opinion, the comedy has only gotten worse. He said that only a handful of writers come up with original content while others source the comedy from the internet. He said that this is a very sad state of comedy in Bollywood.

Arshad Warsi also called the comedy in Bollywood today "chichori." He wishes that this was not the case and that people would work on more intelligent comedy instead. He said that comedy writers have become very complacent and not hardworking.

Arshad Warsi will be reprising a comical role yet again in his next film, Pagalpanti. The action-comedy is directed by Anees Bazmee. Pagalpanti has an ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Ileana D'Cruz, Arshad Warsi, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda, Urvashi Rautela, and Saurabh Shukla. The film is slated to release on November 22, 2019.
