Ayushmann Khurrana delighted by the response 'Article 15' received, says 'glad that I went with my gut instinct'

The actor who is known for his niche of choosing out-of-the-box films said that 'Article 15' was a new experience for him.

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana's latest outing 'Article 15' has garnered praise and appreciation for both the content and the stunning on-screen presentation of the same. The film which deals with social injustice and caste discrimination was widely praised by the audience and the critics.

Talking about the film, recently, Ayushmann reportedly said that he is happy with his decision to star in the hard-hitting socio-political drama as he believes the film's success has reaffirmed the fact that content is main. The actor who is known for his niche of choosing out-of-the-box films said, 'Article 15' was a new experience for him.

"'Article 15' has been an experience like no other and I am glad that I went with my gut instinct again and choosing and believing in content being king always. I am extremely happy to see how well the nation has received it. I have been flooded with messages from all across and I can only say, your love has been the biggest support. I am delighted by the response," PTI quoted the actor as saying.

'Article 15', directed by Anubhav Sinha, is inspired by the heinous Badaun rape incident where two teenage girls were gang-raped and gruesomely murdered by hanging them while they were still alive. It narrates the hard-hitting tale of the honour killing and the feckless attitude of the police department in dealing with the matters. The film is titled referring it to  Article 15 of the Indian Constitution which prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth.

Besides, Ayushmann, the film also stars Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra, M Naser, Ashish Verma, Sushil Pandey, Subrajyoti Bharat, and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub in the film. The film is produced by Benaras Media Works. It released countrywide on July 4.
