Both Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor were accompanied by Ayushmann Khurrana’s brother Aparshakti Khurrana. And both shot separate videos in the gym, dressed in their athleisure and enjoying the steps, that has a bit of Bhangra and blushing in the stereotypical manner. The India’s Most Wanted actor also had a quirky reaction to the challenge, writing to Ayushmann, “All the best mere Lala for Bala.” Meanwhile, Varun and Aparshakti are seen discussing who they should next challenge, and take the names of Sanya Malhotra and Ananya Panday. Ayushmann gave his thumbs up to both the stars’ acts.

Don’t Be Shy was the same song that had landed in a controversy. Dr Zeus had accused the makers of not crediting him for using the track. The team had added it later on as even Badshah, one of the singers, had got involved with it. The makers had then released an official statement that they had acquired the official license to recreate the track.

The other controversy Bala had got involved in was when Ujda Chaman, a movie that dealt with a similar plot, had lashed out at the makers of Bala for advancing its release date from the earlier November 15 to November 8, same as Ujda Chaman, at that time. They also accused them of copyright infringement and threatened to stall the release by approaching the court.

Bala

The story of  Bala revolves around Ayushmann Khurrana’s character Bala, who is frustrated with his balding problem. Bala also stars Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar. The movie, directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, hits the theatres on November 8.
