Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2: Akshay a part of the sequel? Anees Bazmee answers

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, has recently gone on the floors. The film has been at the centre of buzz ever since the makers announced the project. The first look of the film was also recently revealed on social media and featured actor Kartik Aaryan.

Will Akshay Kumar appear in the sequel?

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is being directed by Anees Bazmee. He recently confirmed in an interview to a national daily that Akshay Kumar will not be seen in the sequel. He also revealed that Akshay Kumar was iconic in his role as Dr Aditya Shrivastav in the first part. This news comes as a disappointment for fans since they were expecting to catch a glimpse of Dr Aditya in the sequel.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is slated to release on July 31, 2020. The same date has been booked by Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera as well. The latter stars Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. The film is a period drama and Ranbir Kapoor will reportedly be seen in a double role.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2's director is currently gearing up for the release of his next film, Pagalpanti. The film stars John Abraham, Ileana D’Cruz, Anil Kapoor, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda, Arshad Warsi, and Urvashi Rautela in lead roles. Kartik Aaryan also has several projects in his kitty including Pati Patni Aur Woh, Imtiaz Ali's next, Dostana 2. On the other hand, Kiara Advani also has Laxmmi Bomb, Shershaah, and Good Newwz.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa is counted amongst one of the best psychological comedies ever made in Bollywood, according to its fans. The perfect blend of horror and comedy made the Akshay Kumar starrer a blockbuster. The amalgamation of the two elements was loved by the audience, and Bollywood has been experimenting with the genre ever since. Even 12 years after its release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa is one of the most loved films most by both critics and the audience. It will be interesting to see if the sequel will live up to expectations.
