While Ayushmann Khurrana is seen battling with premature balding in his upcoming release Bala, Bhumi Pednekar will be seen combating societal rage coming her way in the movie as she plays a dark-skinned girl. Bhumi, who has played different types of roles in her past films like Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, once again has picked up the baton to spread yet another social message with Bala.

Bhumi opens up about flaws and why she chose to work for Bala:

In an interview, the Bala actor shared her experience saying that from her first movie itself she decided to be the part of movies that are entertaining and fun. The movie should be fun and quirky so that it takes audiences through a journey full of emotions. She further added that the movie should also leave the audiences with thoughts and that is the reason she opted for Bala. She mentioned that the character she portrays in the movie deals with colour bias which exists in the country.

Bhumi further opened up about her character Latika from the movie Bala and said she is making efforts to change the mindset of people about conventional beauty. The character Latika in the film is an orphan and lives with her aunt. Latika is a very open-minded person and very confident girl that always has her defences up. The actor went on saying that why she opted for such a character was that people in the country always associate ugly with something dark. This is the one thing the film will try and demolish.
