Bollywood has created and launched many actors who have fired up the big screens with their performances. The Hindi film industry has witnessed numerous blockbusters, scaling up the completion level all over the world. It is being seen that actors, singers, and other artists come to Bollywood and make it big on the screens but little do we know that many of them are already regional superstars back home. These actors have rocked the stage equally in regional cinema. Here are some Bollywood superstars that have also worked in regional films:

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her debut in a Tamil film, Iruvar in 1997. Rai post her win at Miss World tried her luck in Tollywood and won many hearts. However, her debut in Bollywood changed her track. She has also worked with several southern actors, including Rajnikanth.

R. Madhavan

The lead actor from Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein has appeared in several Tamil movies. With Mani Ratnam‘s Alaipayuthey, Madhavan had successfully gained the image of a romantic hero. Other than that, he was critically acclaimed for his performances in two of 2001’s highest grossing Tamil films, Gautham Menon’s directorial debut Minnale and Azhagam Perumal's Dumm Dumm Dumm. Apart from winning 2 Filmfare awards for Telugu films, he has also won the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in Aayutha Ezhuthu (Tamil).

Nana Patekar

Nana Patekar is one of the most popular actors in the Marathi film industry. His recent portrayal of Baba Amte in the Marathi movie, Hemalkasa was widely praised. Nana Patekar’s other popular Marathi films include Aapla Manus and Natsamrat.
