Raksha Bandhan is one of the most celebrated festivals of all times. It is the day when people embrace sibling love and exchange gifts. Every year sisters tie Rakhi to their brothers as he pledges to protect her from any obstacles that came her way. On the occasion of this auspicious day, Bollywood celebrities too celebrated the day with much pomp and cheer.

Priyanka Chopra

From what they have shared on various social media platforms, one can say that the celebrations are in full swing. One of the first ones to celebrate the day was none other than Priyanka Chopra who recently got engaged to the singer-songwriter, Nick Jonas. Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, she said " I've got an army of brothers, and this one (@Iamsidchopra) happens to be the leader of the pack (by default) :p #HappyRakshaBandhan! It's one of my favourite festivals where the sister ties a sacred thread around the brother's wrist for protection" In the post shared by her, she can be seen wearing a turtleneck paired along with a translucent jacket posing and holding her gift in her hand. While her brother Siddharth smiled, flaunting the Rakhi tied to him by his elder sister.

Kajol 

'Helicopter Eela' actress Kajol was one of the few celebrities who took to social media to wish everyone on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. For Kajol who has been missing from the limelight, 'Helicopter Eela' will mark her comeback to the silver screen. Ever since the release of the trailer, the movie has been making headlines and her fans are super excited to see on the big screen.

Other Bollywood stars who took to social media platforms to wish their sweet sibling include Abhishek Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Huma Qureshi, Genelia Deshmukh, Arjun Kapoor and Tapasee Pannu. Celebrities like Abhishek Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar posted their childhood pictures with their siblings as a part of their post on social media.

Abhishek Bachchan: 

The actor has been missing from the limelight for quite a while now and seems to be spending most of his time with family. On the occasion of Rakhi, the actor who will be seen next in 'Manmarziyaan' posted a cute childhood picture of him and his sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda. Recently, Shweta made her on-screen debut with her father Amitabh Bachchan for the commercial of a leading jewellery brand. Things did not go as planned, the commercial had to be taken off air for it was said to  be misleading. 

Arjun Kapoor: 

Arjun Kapoor is not only the perfect actor but is also a good son and a caring brother. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Arjun took to Instagram to tease his sisters First, he posted pictures of his younger sibling Anshula Kapoor and half-sister Khushi Kapoor from their appearance at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week 2018. After quite a while, the actor will be seen in Vipul Amrutlal Shah's directorial 'Namastey England' starring Parineeti Chopra. Recently, the makers of the movie received a legal notice as the recent poster of the movie did not have Aksai Chin as a part of India, in the map of India.

Farhan Akhtar:

Along with Abhishek Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar also posted a childhood picture with sister Zoya Akhtar. Taking to the photo-sharing app, he said "Behena kya kehna..boss" The actor was last seen in the movie 'Lucknow Central' and is currently making the headlines for his rumoured relationship with Shibani Dandekar. 

 Taapsee Pannu: 

Tapsee Pannu also took to her social media platform to wish everybody 'A Vey Happy Rakhi'. Taking to the micro-blogging site, she said,  "Touchdown Delhi for a few hours...need some tying and collection to be done." The actress was last seen in 'Mulk' starring opposite veteran actor Rishi Kapoor. 

 Genelia Deshmukh: 

The 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' actress has been missing from the limelight for quite some time now and reportedly spends most of her time with her husband Riteish Deshmukh and sons Riaan and Rahyl.
