Deepika or Katrina to play the female cop? Here’s when Rohit Shetty will answer the big ‘Sooryavanshi’ question

Rohit Shett'ys third film from the cop franchise 'Sooryavanshi' has managed to grab everyone's attention. The film has been making headlines as there is quite a bit of speculation as to who is going to be the female lead in the film. 

Names such as Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif have been linked to the film. And while Deepika Padukone is busy with her next film, 'Chapaak', Kaif is waiting to 'Bharat' to release where she is sharing screen space with Salman Khan.

However, on an award show, Rohit Shetty went on to inform the audience that he will begin the shooting for the film, after a month and that he will announce the name o the female lead in the next 2-3 days. 

The film is helmed by Shetty and will go on floors in May 2019, and will release on Eid 2020. The film is said to be the fourth installment in the Shetty-directed cop series 

Meanwhie, the announcement of the film was made in a very special way with Akshay making a cameo appearance at Rohit Shetty's latest release, 'Simmba'. A text on the screen which said 'Simmba as Veer Sooryavanshi', chief of Anti-terrorism squad revealed that he will be taking charge in 2019.

 'Simmba' garnered over Rs 350 crore at the global box office, and currently ranks under the top 10 highest-grossing Bollywood film in India. With 'Simmba' , Shetty has become the first director to have eight consecutive films enter the Rs 100 crore net domestic box office club. The popular film starred Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in pivotal roles.
