Padukone's sketch of Draupadi goes viral after the announcement of Mahabharat

Reports have confirmed that the actor Deepika Padukone will be playing the role of another strong female character, Draupadi, from Mahabharat. The movie is said to be named Mahabharat, and it will be a retelling of the epic story of Mahabharata from Draupadi’s perspective. It will be a fresh take on the story.

In a statement to a leading daily, the actor said that she is absolutely thrilled and honoured to play the role of Draupadi and she believes that it is the role of a lifetime. She added that while the Mahabharat is popularly known for its mythological tales and cultural influence, many of life’s lessons are also derived from the epic. Deepika Padukone stated that narratring the story from a woman’s perspective, which is fresh and new, will not only be interesting but also very significant.

After the announcement of the movie, an Instagram account posted a sketch of Padukone as Draupadi, that has gone viral. The account also has sketches of Aamir Khan as Krishna and Farhan Akhtar as Arjuna. It also features Hrithik Roshan as Karna and Arjun Rampal as Yudhisthira.
