1.       Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (2013)

This was the part where the audience realised that Deepika could ace even intense roles. The film was the Indian version of the Romeo-Juliet story. According to the critics, the character was played in the best way possible. The actor won the Best Actor (Female) award at Filmfare that year. 

2.       Finding Fanny (2014)

Deepika in the shoes of Angie was considered just perfect by viewers. Most reviews defined the character as simple and very generic. Deepika was appreciated across the country for portraying the pain of a widow effortlessly. She won Stardust Actor of the Year (Female) Award for this one, mainly for the graceful touch she added to the character. While this movie was critically acclaimed, it is not very popular among the masses.

3.       Tamasha (2015)

Tara, from Tamasha, is remembered as one of the most loving and caring characters ever written. Deepika does justice to every bit of the well-written character. Her ability to empathise was one of the best qualities that Tara carried. This is by far Deepika Padukone’s best work, testimony for which is the Screen Award for Best Actor (Female) that she received by people's choice.

4.       Piku (2015)

Piku has one of the best character arcs in the movie's story. The Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone duo worked perfectly for the story. The responsible character of Piku was reportedly very well played by Deepika. The independent and responsible daughter played by Deepika was a popular character and that is probably why the movie has a rating of 7.6/10 on IMDb. 

5.       Bajirao Mastani (2015)

Deepika won Zee Cine Award for Best Actor (Female) for this one. She was widely appreciated by critics and fans alike for the effortless portrayal of a layered character. Every actor in the film was widely appreciated. Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra also won multiple awards for this one. 

6.       Padmaavat (2018)

This film went through a lot of controversies. Deepika played the main character of Rani Padmaavati in this film. Fans believe that this was one of the most graceful and powerful characters ever played by the actor. She bagged the Zee Cine Award for Best Actor (Female) for the portrayal of Padmaavati.
