Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria starrer 'Student of the Year 2' has received mixed response since makers released the trailer. The star cast recently launched the remixed version of 1972 RD Burman classic 'Ye Jawaani hai Diwaani' starring Randhir Kapoor and Jaya Bachchan. While some have enjoyed the remix by Vishal and Shekhar, others haven't appreciated it much saying they have ruined the original.
Speaking to a daily, Randhir Kapoor who featured in the original song spoke about the song and came out in support of Karan Johar and the makers for recreating it. He said: "I feel there is no harm in recreating songs. The original track came out four decades ago. Many youngsters were not aware of the song, but today, everyone knows it because of the remix. [After the redux version released], they all went back and searched for the original song on the Internet. I haven’t seen the song, but I have heard it; it has a nice tune. Also, Karan has officially bought the rights of the number. So, his intentions are honest.”
In other news, the makers have announced the new song from the film titled 'Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan'. Check out the post that teases the audience by Ananya Panday on her Instagram story -
Meanwhile, the makers recently released the trailer of the film which introduces two debutantes Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday. Looking at the trailer, one can say that the competition to become 'Student of The Year' is much fiercer, but in a nutshell, the film comes with the same storyline, over-dramatic scenes, which also make us feel that the film lacks a certain punch.
'Student Of The Year 2' helmed by Punit Malhotra is expected to rake in great numbers at the box office. The film is slated to release on May 10.
