After Javed Akhtar expressed his concern over Vivek Oberoi starrer 'PM Narendra Modi' biopic, Shabana Azmi too took to her Twitter handle to voice her opinion.

It all started when a user wrote tried to clarify that Javed Akhtar was given credits for the old songs used in the film. He wrote: "It appears that @Javedakhtarjadu was crying wolf over #PMModiMovie for being credited with lyrics. In actuality an old song is used in the movie of T-Series -a partner in the movie project for whom Akhthar wrote the lyrics and song appeared in a movie before. Hence the credit."

To which, another user @dattaameet wrote: "This is unknown. The film industry NEVER gives primary credits incl credit on film posters to lyricists/composers on song created under remake rights. At the max- credits are provided at end credits  of a film."

And Shabana Azmi responded saying: "Its quite clear this was done with deliberate intentions to mislead public into believing that @Javedakhtarjadu has written the songs for Mr PM Narendra Modi when the song Ishwar Allah Tere JahaN meiN is from @IamDeepaMehta film 1947Earth." [sic]

For those unaware, the makers of the film responded to the veteran lyricist in a tweet on Saturday. Producer and creative director Sandip Ssingh‏ claimed that the reason credit was given to the veteran musicians is because the team has used their old songs in the biopic.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote,"We have taken the songs 'Ishwar Allah' from the film '1947:Earth' and the song 'Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon' from the film 'Dus' in our film, thus we have given the due credits to respective lyricists Javed Sahab and Sameer Ji."
