Fatima Sana Shaikh receives award from Jackie Chan in China, also quips about 'gharelu' boyfriend

‘Dangal’ girl Fatima Sana Shaikh’s second film as an adult, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, might have flopped, but her work has been recognised not in India, but China. The actress was felicitated for her action in the 2018 release at the Jackie Chan Action Movie Week in Beijing. Not just Chan, the 27-year-old fangirled over actor Adrien Brody as she received the award from the international stars. Fatima also jokingly introduced her fans to her ‘gharelu boyfriend.’

Fatima, dressed in a classy red outfit, took to Instagram to proudly flaunt her trophy, handed to her by Chan and Brody and captioned, “This is the best moment of my life! It's an absolute honor to receive this award from @jackiechan @adrienbrody  I think i will have to do an action movie every year. Just so that I get a chance to meet them.  #jackiechanactionmovieweek  #china #thugsofhindostan.” 

She also shared another snap with Brody and didn’t hesitate to describe the moment, “This is love.” 

While Brody is a real person, the ‘Dangal’ star posed with a statue outside a café in Beijing and wrote, “Meet my boyfriend 😂 ekdam gharelu hai.” 

Fatima’s popularity in China: 

The reason why Fatima was honoured in China could be because the actress became popular in the country after ‘Dangal’ created a storm. The film reportedly earned over Rs 1000 crore in China, making her a known face. She, along with her on-screen sister Sanya Malhotra, had visited the  country multiple times, clicking pics with Chan and the others and shooting dance videos, which had gone viral.

Fatima’s other projects: 

Though ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ failed, Fatima has two films in her kitty, one is ‘Bhoot Police’ alongside Saif Ali Khan and Ali Fazal and the other is Anurag Basu’s multi-starrer where she is paired opposite Rajkummar Rao.
