The impact of Sunny Deol’s victory in his debut election for the Lok Sabha can be understood with the fact that the person he defeated, Punjab Congress Chief Sunil Jakhar has offered to resign. While the Congress leaders might be swimming in troubled waters right now, the winning candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party and their family members are enjoying their happiest phase right now. Even Deol’s family had expressed their delight over the actor-politician's win and Abhay Deol is also delighted and has given a thumbs up to his cousin’s political foray. The actor stated that his brother is passionate about working for the people and has the right intentions, something that’ll help him find his way in his journey.
Asked about Sunny Deol’s jump into politics, Abhay told PTI, "He is passionate about doing it right for the people. And he has got into it with right intentions. Politics is altogether a different game and we are not politicians.
He added, "I am happy for him to be there. And I think he did wanted this, and I am sure he will make good out of it. I do believe that if you have your heart in the right place and your intent is good then you do find your way.”
Earlier, Sunny’s father Dharmendra, brother Bobby, son Karan and half-sister Esha had expressed their delight over the BJP leader's victory.
Abhay was launched in the film industry by Vijayta Films, the banner owned by the Deols, in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Socha Na Tha.’
The actor is currently gearing up for ‘Chopsticks’, a Netflix film opposite Mithila Palkar.
