Sridevi, whose untimely death on February 24, 2018, left the country in shock, was signed for Karan Johar's film 'Kalank'. After sometime, Janhvi Kapoor took to Instagram and posted a picture of Madhuri Dixit with her mother and wrote, “Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart ...Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film.”

And now, talking about  'Kalank', Madhuri reportedly said that when she was on the sets, she looked at it as just another role but when Karan asked her to take up the role, she was extremely emotional. She said she hopes that she can make her proud. Talking about her role, she asserted that when people watch the movie, they will realize how different it is from her other films like Devdas because the role is poles apart from that.
