Ranbir Kapoor is known for his boyish charm that never fails to diminish his machismo. The actor has worked in well-known movies, some even popular internationally. He also ventured in some highly controversial movies like Sanju, helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, where he donned a whole new look that he reportedly never thought he could achieve. It is a biopic of the veteran yet controversial actor Sanjay Dutt. An actor whose life and personality traits are hard to emulate on-screen. Ranbir Kapoor and the team put great effort and experimented several times to achieve the look because Sanjay Dutt is bigger, muscular, and has a different style than Kapoor.

Ranbir on workouts and diet

Ranbir reportedly said in an interview that Sanjay Dutt's face changed over the years because of alcohol. So achieving the look was pretty tough and sometimes he'd sit for hours just to realize that the efforts taken to achieve the look did not go well. It was tough to resemble Sanjay Dutt, but Ranbir somehow managed to look like him. And when he did, he could pull it off well. Here's what he also said about the diet and the workout.

Ranbir underwent a serious body-building routine because he had to gain a lot of muscle in order to resemble Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir said that he detests the gym but this was the first time that he had to work on his body. He said that he was eating eight meals a day. Sanjay Dutt represents the epitome of bodybuilding and Ranbir managed to resemble his look, which he had never done before in his life.

From his transformation to his voice modulation, the performance stoked everyone. Sanju gained much popularity during its release and it is Ranbir’s first movie to cross the mark of 200 crores. It is also Rajkumar Hirani’s third film to cross that mark after 3 Idiots and PK.
