"I Hope 'Quantico' Has Cracked the Door Open for Female Talent and Women of Colour to Play Leading Ladies", Says Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra has become a global star and has is a regular at various Hollywood events and award shows. The actor also made her Hollywood debut in the Dwayne Johnson starrer 'Baywatch' last year and is often seen mingling with the who's who of Hollywood. The Television show 'Quantico' has been instrumental in Priyanka's rise to global fame and her portrayal of its lead character Alex Parishh made Hollywood filmmakers sit up and take notice of her. The show, however, was dropped by ABC citing poor ratings as the reason for pulling the show off air. The finale episode of the third and final season of the show aired recently and Priyanka Chopra took to Twitter to bid an emotional farewell to her much-loved character Alex Parrish.

The actor took to Twitter to pour her heart out about her 'Quantico' journey. In her tweets, Priyanka also expressed hope that the show has opened doors so that women of colour are increasingly considered to play the lead roles. In her first tweet Priyanka said, "As the season ends, I am saying goodbye to Alex Parrish. As you’ll see, her story will come full circle...and that is the best feeling as an actor. Bringing Alex to life has challenged me physically and emotionally, but even more significant it has (I hope) cracked the door open..." The actress continued, "... for female talent and women of color to play leading ladies. Thank you for opening your homes and hearts to me every week! Thank you to the cast and crew of #Quantico for being such an amazing team to work with, for all the memories that I will cherish...memories of laughter, of."

In her posts, the actress also expressed her fondness for her 'Quantico' co-stars and said, "learning new things, of making friends for life. It was a pleasure working with each and every one of you, and I look forward to crossing paths again!"

As per reports, Priyanka Chopra was the first South Asian to lead an American network drama series. The actress also bagged the People's Choice Award for two years in a row. Priyanka played the role of FBI agent Alex Parishh in the ABC show which first aired in 2015.
