Before the start of the event, Kher was seen posing with the intense poster of the film in the background.

The trailer was also unveiled on social media, and it went immediately to the top of the trends. ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ is based on the life of former Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh.

Kher’s portrayal of Singh in his look, gait and his grip of his voice and dialogue delivery was impressive. Akshaye, who plays the role of Sanjay Baru, Media Advisor to the PM, also lived up to his ‘dependable’ tag with shrewd lines in the trailer.

The story of the film traces Singh’s 10-year journey as the Prime Minister for two terms. From the time he was selected by the party to facing issues like the nuclear deal, Kashmir and the impending rise of Rahul Gandhi to the post, several important moments of his stint are captured. The events are from the point of view of Baru, who is seen advising the PM in an interesting manner.
