Bollywood has always given us songs which are perfect for all occasions. India will be celebrating its 72nd Independence Day on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. Along with Bollywood movies, there are also a few patriotic songs which make us proud of our nation, whenever we listen to them. On the occasion of the 72nd Independence Day, let us take a look a look at five Bollywood songs which will bring out the feeling of patriotism in us :

1. Ae Watan, 'Raazi' (2017)

This song from the 2018 blockbuster film 'Raazi' gives us goosebumps whenever we listen to it. 'Ae Watan Watan Mere Abaad Rahe Tu' truly depicts one's love towards their country. Set in the background of the 1970's India- Pakistan war, the movie was about an Indian spy Sehmat (Alia Bhatt) who marries a Pakistani army official Iqbal (Vicky Kaushal) to cater information related to Pakistan's upcoming mission against India. This song had both male and female versions. While the male version was sung by Arijit Singh, the female version was crooned by Sunidhi Chauhan.

2. 'Kandhon Se Milte Hai Kandhe', 'Lakshya' (2004)

This song is one of the most encouraging songs which was a special tribute to the soldiers. The message which is conveyed by the song is about never giving up and fighting the enemies to save our country. The song was picturised on Hrithik Roshan and his colleagues from the Indian army, who were preparing themselves for an upcoming war against Pakistan.

3. 'Chak De India', 'Chak De! India' (2007)

This song is not only dedicated to the Indian sportspersons and athletes but is dedicated to all and whenever we listen to this song, the inner patriot in us is awakened. The movie was about the struggle of a former Indian Hockey player, who was accused of being a traitor when his team lost. In order to prove his innocence, he takes up the responsibility to coach the Indian Indian Women's Hockey team for the Commonwealth Games of 2002. The film was based on the struggle of a coach to unite his team irrespective of caste, region, etc. 

4. 'Maa Tujhe Salaam', 'Vande Mataram' (album) (1997)

This song of music maestro A.R. Rahman which released in the year 1997, is till date considered as one of the most popular patriotic songs. Whenever we think about Independence Day songs, this is the first song that comes to our mind. This song was from A.R. Rahman's music album, 'Vande Mataram' and it was praised by Indians all over the world.

5. 'Tu Bhoola Jise', 'Airlift' (2017)

This song from Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur starrer 'Airlift' conveys a message to every Indian who stays abroad that wherever it is that one stays, one must never forget his motherland. In the movie, Akshay Kumar was ignorant towards his country as he stayed in Kuwait but when the Iraqi soldiers invaded Kuwait, is when he felt that only the Indian government can save the Indians residing in Kuwait. This song was shown at the end of the movie.
