Jhund Movie: Aamir Khan asked Amitabh Bachchan to play Barse

Jhund is an inspirational film based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of the NGO Slum Soccer. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan as the retired sports teacher and founder of Slum Soccer. The film directed by Nagraj Manjule is a biographical sports-drama. Jhund is set to hit the theatres on the 20th of September 2019.

About The Movie

Slum Soccer is a Nagpur-based organisation (NGO) committed to the upliftment of needy children by football matches. In the movie Jhund, Amitabh Bachchan essays the role of a Slum Soccer's founder Vijay Barse. Playing a professor, Bachchan motivates the street children to play soccer. The movie also shows how Amitabh keeps underprivileged children away from drugs and crime by building an entire team of these children to play soccer.

Aamir Khan Encouraged Amitabh Bachchan 

"I remember when I discussed that with Aamir, he told me I must do this film. And you know what happens when Aamir endorses something... So I am doing that," Amitabh Bachchan told a media portal. "We will start working on the film in November. It is a real-life story. It is about underprivileged children, and those staying in slums, a sporting team is made with these bunch of actors," he added.

Vijay Barse’s Reaction

Vijay Barse addressed some questions about the movie and said, "I haven't met Mr Bachchan yet. But he might have a lot of material about me to study. I keep meeting Nagraj regularly. We are always in touch. Because of Amitabh Bachchan's involvement, I know my mission of slum soccer is going to travel far and wide."

He further added, "From children to adults, everyone is a fan of Bachchan. So when he gives my message, what greater honour there could be? It's an honour for me that this century's greatest actor is going to play my role." 

About The Cast

The film also stars Vicky Kadian, Ganesh Deshmukh, and Akash Thosar. Vicky Kadian plays the role of Vijay Barse's child in the movie. This movie is the second collaboration of Akash, Vicky, and Ganesh after their Marathi film (Sairat). Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar produced Jhund.

The 'Shahenshah of Bollywood' who is playing the lead role in the movie will surely give the film more recognition.
