Kamal Haasan the celebrated Tamil actor known for his roles in films like Chachi 420 and Vishwaroopam turns 65 today on November 7. Kamal Haasan is known to go to great lengths to achieve the desired look for his movie roles. So to celebrate this National Award-winning actor's birthday here are four movie roles of Kamal Haasan where he went through a tremendous physical transformation to achieve the desired look.

1. Chachi 420

Chachi 420 was the directorial debut of Kamal Haasan. In this comedy-drama film, Kamal Hassan played a double role and gained immense praise for the audience. The Vishwaroopam actor transformed himself into an old lady’s avatar while also playing the role of Tabu’s husband. Kamal Hassan was unrecognisable in this role and even won several accolades for his portrayal of the 'trickster Chachi'.

2. Vishwaroopam

Kamal Haasan is considered as the master of playing double roles. Vishwaroopam is another film directed, produced and enacted by Kamal Haasan. In the film, Kamal Haasan plays the role of a classical dancer as a cover-up for his identity as a RAW agent. Kamal Haasan was successful in portraying the delectable charm of a classical dancer while simultaneously working as a RAW agent on the side and fighting off terrorists.

3. Dasavathaaram

Dasavathaaram as the name suggests a movie which shows Kamal Haasan in ten different roles starting right from the 12th century to the 21st century. Right from Gorge W. Bush to a RAW operative to a former CIA Agent. The film was successful to show the versatility of Kamal Haasan in these roles while also establishing the storyline that concurs all of these ten incarnations in the 21st century.

4. Anbe Sivam

Anbe Sivam is considered a cult classic in Tamil cinema although it failed at the box-office. The film explored Kamal Haasan once again in a comic role alongside R. Madhavan. Kamal Haasan’s role as humanist touched topics such as communism, atheism, and altruism. Kamal Haasan's personality was a complete contrast to the role played by Madhavan hence the chemistry shared by the tow was appreciated by the audience.
