'Judgementall Hai Kya' actress Kangana Ranaut called a section of media 'deshdrohis' and 'bikau' after she got into an ugly spat with a journalist at a song launch event, a few days back. But will she forget and move on?
She doesn't believe in ruining the relationships for no reason and on being asked if she will mend her ties with media, Kangana in an interaction with Republic Bharat said: "After this incident, I am sure media will become aware of the fact that you can't build an underground web and damage someone's career. If you can follow your ideologies, I can follow mine. It is my right which government to follow and support. You can't target me on the basis of that."
She further added: "One cannot target me for my personal choices. When they understand that, that day I will speak to them again. I don't want to change them because I know the importance of opposition. It is not possible for a country to run without opposition or an ideology to run without criticism. Aisa hota nai hai aur hona bhi nai chahiye. Opponents should be there. Aisa thodi hai ki hamari hi chalegi. But targetting someone is not right. And if you are an opponent, then show some dignity and self-respect in that. Isko kehte hain dharm yudh."
On making her stance clear, Kangana stressed that targeting someone on the basis of their personal ideologies is wrong. She said: "Main aaj ki peedhi ki ladki hai, the people who can control my career, jo log raato rat rozi roti aur bag pack kara sakte hain... If I can raise a voice against them, and if I can stand against them, If I can risk my career for that... how does it matter who is sitting in Delhi as a Prime Minister, agar us tarah ki meri soch ho to?"
"I am not a part of politics also. How is that related to me directly? I work in films. You will have to give me that benefit of doubt that I stand for what I believe in and what I like. And that is my right. Why shouldn't I? If I believe that this government can help in country's progress, what is wrong in that? Aisa to hai nai ki maine election ke baad hi ye neeti apnaayi ho. Jo hai wo hai. Jo tha wo tha. If this government had lost the elections, I was ready to face the bashing also or any consquences. So, targetting someone on the basis of this by media is wrong," she concluded.
