Kangana Ranaut has often claimed to be staunchly against nepotism in the Bollywood industry. Her comments on the matter have caused her to have feuds with multiple actors as well as with the director Karan Johar. She once called Karan Johar the flag bearer of nepotism in the industry and that he did not welcome newcomers to the industry, in his talk show Koffee With Karan. That comment allegedly did not sit well with the director. She and her sister also accused the popular actor Taapsee Pannu of entering the industry thanks to nepotism. On those comments, Taapsee said that Kangana was not right and that she has had many struggles in the industry and did not receive her status due to nepotism or favouritism.

Her ongoing feud with the actor Hrithik Roshan

Kangana and Hrithik Roshan have had a very public and bitter feud for a long while. The whole ordeal started when Kangana called someone a silly ex in an interview, with heavy implications that the ex she was referring to was Hrithik, however, she did not directly name him in her comment. Then Hrithik took to Twitter and commented that he would have a higher chance of dating the pope than many of the women that the media had coupled him with. Later, he sent Kangana a legal notice in 2016, a few weeks after she had made her comment on the interview. The two actors are reportedly still on bad terms and both have slung sly comments and insults at each other over the years on social media.
