Kareena Kapoor Khan has taken up only a select set of films after her marriage. She was last seen in Veere Di Wedding which was a commercial success back in 2018. The actor has stayed away from the silver screen for more than a year now and is all set to make a comeback with Good Newwz. The film features Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Good Newwz film announcement

The film was announced in 2018. Karan Johar, the producer of the film took to Twitter back in August 2018 to announce the film. It was titled Good News with a release date of July 19, 2019. Due to production issues, the film was later scheduled to release on September 06 2019. This rescheduled release date was pushed again and now the film is slated for a December release. On account of Akshay Kumar's 52nd birthday, Karan Johar tweeted wishing Kumar and also confirming the release date and title change for the film. The film is directed by Raj Mehta.

Akshay and Kareena's previous films together

Akshay and Kareena have worked together previously in several successful projects. The two were seen sharing the screen together for the first time in Ajnabee back in 2001. They then went on to work together in projects like Aitraaz, Bewafaa, Talaash: The Hunt Begins, Tashan and Kambakkth Ishq. Kareena also did a cameo in Akshay-starrer Gabbar Is Back in 2015. The two powerhouses of talent will be seen together on-screen after a gap of four years. It will be interesting to see how Good Newwz fares after its release in December.
