Katrina Kaif’s latest release, Bharat garnered good numbers at the Box office. The film starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif crossed ₹200 crores mark. Kaif is currently working for her upcoming movie, Sooryavanshi, opposite Akshay Kumar which will hit theatres by March 2020. Reportedly, she will be next seen as P.T. Usha in the legendary Indian track runner's biopic. P.T. Usha is an Indian sprinter, also called as 'The queen of Indian track and field'. The sprinter has won as many as 101 international medals. Katrina Kaif as P.T. Usha

Reportedly, earlier, Priyanka Chopra was being considered for the role, but the actor denied due to her prior professional commitments. But now the reports reveal that Revathy S Varmha flew down to meet Katrina regarding the role and is waiting for Kat’s confirmation on the film. If Katrina accepts the offer, this would be her first biopic-based film. She would also have to go through rigorous prep for the part, including adopting P.T. Usha's sprinting style. Rumours also suggest that P.T. Usha is on-board for her biopic and will likely be seen supervising the Bharat actor.

One of the most pivotal aspects while casting actors for the biopics is the physical resemblance. For instance, Farhan Akhtar in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Sushant Singh Rajput in M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story, Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt in his biopic, Sanju, Priyanka Chopra in Mary Kom; all these actors had some similarity to the characters they were playing. Moreover, their finesse as a performer and tenacity in replicating the real-life characters left audiences in awe and amazement. The biopic might be a career-changing phase for Katrina Kaif as she has never done anything similar to this film before. To play P.T. Usha, the actor will surely need to boost up and bring her 'A-Game'.
