Sunitha Krishnan revealed a traumatic incident from the past has led her to help women who are forced into the flesh trade without their will. Sunitha Krishnan, who was sexually assaulted by eight men at the age of 15, recovered from the trauma of her assault. The activist shared, she might have recovered from the trauma, but the shame and ridicule of the society still linger in her mind. This anger against the conventions of the society, helped her set up her NGO called Prajwala, an organization that works on the rescuing women from the sex trade and trafficking and helps them build a new life.
