Natasha Dalal has been termed Varun Dhawan’s ‘childhood sweetheart’ since the time the actor made his debut. And every time they stepped out for movies, dinner dates, it was considered as the couple making it ‘official’. Their posing together for the first time at Sonam K Ahuja-Anand Ahuja’s wedding reception was one such moment. Later in August, he shared a picture with his ladylove for the first time on Instagram. The duo's recent picture conveying Diwali wishes was another ‘confirmation’ of their relationship. But Varun has never openly admitted to dating Natasha, and only hinted it in hush-hush tones when asked about it in interviews.
And now finally we have heard it from the horse’s mouth that the ‘Judwaa 2’ star is indeed dating the fashion designer and plans to marry her. Varun's mentor Karan Johar asked him as he featured along with Katrina Kaif on 'Koffee With Karan', “We have seen a lot of ins and outs with Natasha Dalal.” The actor responded, “You’ve had dinner with her in London. You’ve met her.” When KJo wondered if he could say all that on national television and got a nod from the 'Student of the Year' star, the filmmaker shared delightfully, “So, I’ve had dinner with her and have had great times with you and Natasha. We’ve gone out and you seem like a wonderfully happy two friends or couple?” Varun said what he has never said before, “Couple.” The host's next question was: "So are you saying this that you’re dating Natasha Dalal?” Varun replied, “Yes, I'm saying this." The actor also said 'Yeah' when asked if he plans to marry her.
Karan then asked him when the marriage is likely to be held, speaking about his busy schedule, and joked about not being invited for Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas’ weddings. The director tells Katrina also that they are not going to be invited for either of the two weddings to be held this year when she expresses an interest in dressing up for the events. He then says, “Our major hope is Varun and Natasha’s wedding. We will get invited to it.” Varun then says, “I’m not competing with the other celebrity couples.”
Karan then says, “I will have a very emotional moment when you get married. I will feel like I’m giving my son away.” Varun responds, “Can we play K3G ('Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham') theme or something.” KJo says, “I will totally play it. Meri saanso me tu hai samaya. Mera jeevan to hai tera saaya (lyrics of the track)." Continuing the next line of the song, the 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' director then says he, along with his parents, David and Karuna Dhawan, will perform Varun's 'puja' by moving the 'thali' over his face. Varun, however, said his father won't be joining them and would be 'sitting.'
Not sure if that will happen for real, but we are surely looking forward to Varun-Natasha's wedding soon.
