Shabbir Ahluwalia is an Indian television actor and host who has appeared on a number of shows. Apart from television shows, Shabbir has worked in some Bollywood films as well. He was born on August 10, 1979, and has two siblings, sister Shefali and brother Sameer. He did his schooling from St. Xavier’s High School in Vile Parle in Mumbai and completed his graduation from University of Maryland, College Park.
After completing his studies, Shabbir entered the entertainment industry with the show Hip Hip Hurray. It was an Indian television series directed and created by Nupur Asthana. Although it was his debut in the entertainment industry, Shabbir gained recognition from the television show Kahiin Toh Hoga. It was an Indian daily soap opera created by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms. The show also starred Aamna Shariff and Rajeev Khandelwal in lead roles. Reportedly, the show was based on the popular novel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
It was just the start of Shabbir Ahluwalia’s career. Apart from the two television shows, he has also made notable appearances in one of the most epic Indian television series, Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2002), Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat (2003), Kahi Toh Milengi (2002), Kkavyanjali (2005), Kasam Se (2006), Kasautii Zindagi Kay (2007), Kayamath (2008), Laagi Tumse Lagan and many more. Ahluwalia came out to be the winner of the third season of the popular stunt/dare reality game show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2006.
The Khiladi of the film industry, Akshay Kumar hosted its first season, whereas Priyanka Chopra hosted the third season. It is said that the show was based on the American thriller show Fear Factor. Ahluwalia has also contested in a reality show named Dhammal Express.
Working as the host of well-known Indian television shows, Shabbir Ahluwalia was the host of the popular dance show Nach Baliye, Guinness World Records- Ab India Todega and Dancing Queen. He made his Bollywood debut with the action-thriller film Shootout At Lokhandwala that starred Vivek Oberoi and Tushar Kapoor as lead actors.
His other Bollywood project was Mission Istambul in 2008 which also starred Vivek Oberoi, Shriya Sara and Zayed Khan. One of the most known television actors, Shabbir Ahluwalia, married his girlfriend, actress Kanchi Kaul in 2011 and now, they are parents of two boys, Azai and Ivarr.
