Saif Ali Khan's film Laal Kaptaan recently hit the theatres on October 18, 2019. The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Zoya Hussain, and Deepak Dobriyal in pivotal roles. Despite having a great cast, the film received a mixed response from the critics. Reports say that Laal Kaptaan saw a very slow start at the box office. It managed to amass a total of  Rs. 50 lakhs only on day 1 of its release, as per the reports.

Laal Kaptaan box office update - Day 3

Saif's action-thriller Laal Kaptaan reportedly experienced a slower start than expected. As per the box office numbers, the film has been unsuccessful in getting people to the theatres despite Saif playing one of the most different roles in his career. Helmed by Navdeep Singh, Laal Kaptaan managed to make only about Rs. 10 lakhs on its opening day, according to the reports. Compared to the recent releases in Bollywood like War and The Sky Is Pink, Saif Ali Khan's film did not top the charts even on the weekend. The box office reports say that Laal Kaptaan's collection dropped even more on the weekend. It just saw a 10 per cent hike in its collection over the weekend, which was lesser than its opening day collection too. The question arises- with Akshay Kumar's Housefull 4 being just around the corner, will Saif's Laal Kaptaan garner a better response at the box office this week?

Laal Kaptaan is directed by Navdeep Singh and is produced by Aanand L Rai under the banner of Eros International. The film chronicles the time of the 18th-century when a Naga sadhu in India sets out on a journey across Bundelkhand to seek revenge for an injustice committed in the past. Fans have lauded the cinematography part of the film, but many have stated that the film is quite slow when it comes to telling the story. Another fan wrote on social media that the film was well conceptualised but went on to become difficult to understand. On the work front, Saif Ali Khan is reportedly busy working on his another interesting project in the industry: Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior, which is slated to release in January 2020.
