Actor Saif Ali Khan treated fans with a huge surprise on his birthday. He launched the teaser of his upcoming movie Laal Kaptaan. The poster of the much-awaited movie was launched in the month of May and Saif's vindictive look in it created an immense amount of buzz among fans. The film is all set to hit the screens in India on September 6, 2019.

The First look

The producers dropped Saif's first look on Eros Now's official Instagram handle and it spoke volumes of his role as a Naga Sadhu in the upcoming film. The poster featured him with deeply kohled eyes, white dust smeared vertically down the middle of his face, and a lengthy dab of vermillion on his forehead. He was also seen with an entangled bun on the head mixing with the blood of a deceased.

Laal Kaptaan teaser and movie

The film also stars actor Zoya Hussain, Deepak Dobriyal, and Manav Vij from Mukkabaaz movie and is claimed to be a vengeance drama where Saif kills a British soldier and puts on a bandana to look cool. As per reports, when Saif was asked about his look, he said that he got his ears pierced and grew his hair for the role. He added that he faced a lot of difficulties while shooting in the burning heat of Rajasthan with his long hair. He said that doing his hair and makeup sometimes took him even more than 40 minutes to get ready for the shoot.

Previously, some of the actor's images from the Rajasthan movie sets were leaked in which he was seen acing the appearance of Captain Jack Sparrow with dense beard and dreadlocks. The resemblance of his look was with Jack Sparrow because he was seen donning a jacket and dreadlocks in the movie. Reports suggest that the actor mentioned that he was not aware of his look to be similar to Jack Sparrow, but he said that the look is not exactly the same and will make sense once we see the whole movie. 

Sunil Lulla, the managing director of Eros Now, said in an interview that Saif is an iconic actor. He further informed that the script of the movie showcases Saif's talent in a very different style. Laal Kaptaan boasts a larger-than-life landscape, dramatic characters, and an incredible story making it a first of its kind. Navdeep Singh, the director of the movie feels that Laal Kaptaan is the kind of film that will definitely create its own genre and portrayal style of its own.
