Farhan Akhtar is the son of popular screenwriters Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani. He has established himself as a screenwriter, director, actor, singer and a producer in the Hindi film industry. Farhan began his career as a director with the coming up of new-age comedy-drama Dil Chahta Hai in the year 2001. The film was a milestone in his career. Farhan has also excelled as an actor and has given some mindful performances. Here is a list of five scenes from his movies that showcase him as a brilliant actor.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara starring Farhan, Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol in lead roles, has a massive fan following among the youth. In the movie, the three friends take a  road- trip to Spain which indeed gave travel goals to anyone and everyone who watched the film. There is a particular scene in the movie which marks Naseeruddin Shah’s special appearance when Imran played by Farhan finally manages to find his father and comes across a big confession. Farhan's act in the scene came out very naturally and as he portrayed it mostly through actions and expressions rather than melodramatic dialogues.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a biopic based on the life of legendary athlete Milkha Singh. There comes a point in the film when Milkha Singh returns home after joining the defence forces. He goes in search of his partner, Biro played by Sonam Kapoor and finds out about how she was married against her wish. His reaction in that moment in the scene was over the top. The perfect dialogue delivery and Farhan's stronghold made the scene flawless.

Rock On!

The film made Farhan Akhtar earn the Filmfare award for Best Male Debut. Rock On! released in 2008 and received critical acclaim. He portrayed the character of Aditya Shroff who goes on with his friends to fulfil their dream to make a rock band. Farhan brings out his best in a particular scene when he meets his ex-girlfriend at a party and with his ex-bandmates after a long time. Both of them make a small conversation and Aditya introduces her to his wife. The actor wonderfully made himself to bring out the maturity of the character as the story takes a 10-year jump in between and showcases his past life and as well as the present. 

Luck by Chance

The 2009 drama film was written and directed by Zoya Akhtar. Farhan portrayed the role of Vikram Jaisingh in Luck By Chance. It marks the journey of an actor who comes to Mumbai to become a film star. After giving his first hit in the industry, Vikram Jaisingh accidentally meets his idol Shah Rukh Khan at a party where Vikram is advised by the superstar to stay away from the trappings of stardom and to always stay close to the ones who stood by him when he was a nobody. Farhan’s innocence and vulnerability in the scene came out perfectly making it one of the best scenes in the movie.

Karthik Calling Karthik

The thriller drama was written and directed by Vijay Lalwani. It managed to receive some positive reviews given the storyline was pretty different. The film was around the life of Karthik played by Farhan, who is an introvert and suffers from Schizophrenia. Farhan got it right in the scene when his love interest Shonali Mukherjee played by Deepika Padukone finds out all the unsent emails in which Farhan expressed his love for her. He allowed his emotions to flow flawlessly and the scene hit the right node.
